...cars being reclaimed by nature. And then I saw this. How does this even happen?? No way it could've been washed up from a wrecked ship, right?

Someone drove it onto the beach, it got stuck in the sand, driver said "meh," and left it behind for the rust monster.

Ran when parked.

The car was parked on the beach, tide came in, buried it in sand for a few decades.

example of how easily it can happen:

But on a beach? Granted, no location is given, but it seems unlikely that any local authority near a beach in this country would let a car sit there for years and years until it was buried by sand.

Unless it's a super-remote beach? In which case, what happened to the people who drove it out there? I guess they could've towed it and dumped it, but... why?

Oh yeah, I love these videos. I more meant how it was allowed to stay there for so long - although I guess if it was buried in the '60s people were a lot less concerned about environmental issues.

That's probably it, it just seemed surprising to me that people would let a car full of not-fish-friendly fluids and metals rot on or under a beach.

Ah ha! That makes sense that it was found after a storm, the beach erosion behind it in those pictures gives it away. That's so crazy!

The interior is in surprisingly good shape. Back seats look almost new.
